3D series are made possibilities with new technologies arising, which MMB acquired to extend and expand its rapid prototyping capabilities. Such agile technologies compatible with reliable small-series production include :
- Vacuum casting of PU and ABS parts with 4 machines of 3000 x 1000 x 800 mm and 17L max volume,
- Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) of aluminium of glass fiber loaded PA with 3 machines of 500mm cube max dimension,
- Metal Additive Manufacturing of aluminium or stainless-steel parts for examples with 14 machines with 400 x 400 x 360 max dimension.
Additive manufacturing presents opportunities to the automotive industry. MMB experiments in particular with metal additive manufacturing since year 2000 and operates it with maturity Under Aerospace EN/AS 9100 certifications through the subsidiary VOLUM-e since 2015.
